Shensara Yoga, Music and Arts Festival
For five transformative years starting in 2015, Shensara emerged as a leading community event in the Mid Atlantic region. Situated on sprawling riverfront farmland in Luray, Virginia, Shensara celebrated Yoga, Music, and Art and provided its participants with tools that inspired them to make a positive impact on society and the planet. One of the first Yoga festivals in the region to address the issue of systemic racism, Shensara was known for its diverse and inclusive lineup of Yoga teachers.
Shensara was a feast for the senses, featuring two performance stages, seven activity villages, a bonfire, tree swings, vendors, food service, and over 75 artists and teachers. The festival was built on four pillars of peace: Yoga, Mindfulness, Discovery, and Celebration.
Shankari Goldstein was a co-founder and held the position of Creative Director and Program Curator. The festival was graced by notable names such as Climbing Poetree, Grammy-nominated Cheick Hamala Diabate, Faith Hunter, Mighty Joshua & the Zion #5, Marni Sclaroff, Yogi J Miles, Amber Karnes, Dana Smith, Woven Green, Druminyasa, Christie Lenee, Holy River, Hawah Kasat, kelley palmer, Tara Eshenroeder, Mahapurna, and many more.
